The LINC Program is an opportunity for international students to learn about American culture and traditions through a family/mentor.
Mississippi State University hosts over 700 international students from several different countries each academic year! As a result, we as the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center (HCDC) strive to make sure our international student population becomes part of the larger Mississippi State “Bulldog Family.” One way we do this is through our LINC Program, which stands for ‘Linking Internationals in the Community.’ When you join the LINC Program, HCDC will match you with a local family/mentor or student mentor that will help you explore Mississippi State University and the Starkville area. This program focuses on helping international students acclimate to U.S. and Mississippi State culture through the development of personal relationships. Throughout the academic year, you will meet monthly with your family/mentor to reinforce your bonds and relationships, as well as enhance your multicultural awareness.
